broken image

BATH BOMBS are a huge hit during bath time.

And popular! You may have come across them recently in your local store.

But did you know you can easily make Bath Bombs at home? In fact, some of the ingredients are already right there in your own kitchen!

Another bonus to making them yourself? You control the ingredients.

Using different shaped molds, mixing colors, or even packing a small toy inside to be discovered during bath time, are all easy ways to put a fun spin on bath time when making these together.

ALL FIZZED-UP BATH BOMB RECIPE

• 2 c. Baking Soda

• 1 c. Citric Acid

• 3 drops Essential Oil

• 1 tsp. Olive Oil
• Natural Food Coloring

• Witch Hazel (in a small spray bottle)

In a glass bowl, add Baking Soda and Olive Oil, and stir well to combine. Add in drops of Food Coloring until you get to your desired color, then add the Citric Acid and stir well to combine. If your mixture isn’t clumping together, you may have to add more Olive Oil but do so VERY slowly so as not to activate the Citric Acid. When you have gotten the mixture to the clumping consistency, give it a couple lights sprays of Witch Hazel. This will help stop any fizzing action that may have started.

Now you are ready to pack your molds. Once your molds are packed tightly, allow your bombs to dry overnight before removing them from the mold. Store them in an airtight glass jar.

If preferred, you can also make these without the fizz. Just remove the Citric Acid from the recipe and adjust the amount of Baking Soda.

Some ideas for molds are plastic eggs, formed cookie tins, or fun silicone molds.
