SCENT JARS are a great way to reuse empty spice shakers and can help introduce your child to new smells they have never encountered before. For added fun or to adjust this for older children, make labels for each scent and have your child match the labels to the scents!
SCENTS AND SCENTS-IBILITY SCENT JARS RECIPE
• 5–10 Empty Spice Shaker Containers
• 5–10 Cotton Balls
• 2 drops Essential Oil of choice per container
Make sure to wash jars well beforehand to remove any lingering spice smells. Have your child assist you in putting 2 drops of Essential Oil onto the Cotton Balls and then place them inside the spice shaker. Write the name of the Essential Oil on the inside of the cover before putting it back on the jar. You can also add various shaped beads or objects (such as small toys) to learn the sounds the objects make when shaking these Scent Jars.
