STEP 16 - FIDGET PUTTY

broken image

With just a few tweaks, one recipe can make several different things, but still be fundamentally the same.

This FIDGET PUTTY recipe falls into that category as it is very similar to the Play Clay and Salt Dough Ornament Recipes we went over earlier in this class.

It’s perfect for kids with a bad case of the Fidgets!

FANTASTIC FUN FIDGET PUTTY RECIPE

• 1 c. Flour

• 1/2 c. Salt

• 2 tbsp. Vegetable Oil

• 1 c. Water

• 2 tsp. Cream of Tartar

• Natural Food Coloring

• 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

Mix the flour, salt, and cream of tartar together in a mixing bowl, making sure to thoroughly combine all ingredients. Combine the water and vegetable oil in a small cooking pan. You can either add the Food Coloring with the Vegetable Oil and Water or wait until the product has cooled a bit and knead the coloring and Essential Oil in together before storing it. Slowly blend the dry ingredients into the cooking pan. Stir the mixture until it is lump-free and has a soup consistency. Cook the mixture over a medium heat until it starts to form dough. Remove from heat and allow to cool for one hour on a clean cookie sheet.

If you didn’t add the Food Coloring and Essential Oils earlier, you can knead both in once it has cooled enough to be handled. Store your Fidget Putty in an airtight container.

QUESTION – BESIDES LAVENDER, WHAT OTHER ESSENTIAL OILS WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE WITH THIS RECIPE?
